Get Protected Share ready.

The fastest path is to install the notarized app, grant Screen Recording once, and test the exact share target before a real call.

Install

  1. Download and open the notarized DMG.
  2. Drag Unshown to Applications and launch it there.
  3. Grant Screen Recording when macOS asks, then relaunch once.

Start a test share

  1. Choose private apps under Excluded Apps.
  2. Start Protected Share from the menu bar.
  3. In your meeting or recording app, select Unshown Protected Share, not the original display.
  4. Confirm the participant or recording preview before live use.

Troubleshooting

Unshown opens Setup on first launch and then lives in the menu bar. If the icon is obscured or no window is visible, open Unshown again from Applications to restore Setup. If the output does not update, stop the session, confirm Screen Recording access in System Settings, and restart Unshown. Use Export Diagnostics before reproducing an intermittent problem.
